| Course content |
|
Definition of the field, basic terminology - the fields of hygiene, state health agency, health, disease, prevention, determinants of health. Personal hygiene for pupils - basic principles of personal hygiene, the importance of skin derivates hygiene, clothes and footwear requirements. Biorhythms. Workplace hygiene - work environment, work load, manual handling of loads and shift work. Workplace hygiene with the focus on teaching profession. Learning hygiene - the impact of school learning on health, fatigue and overloading, biological rhythms, psychogenic stress. Mental hygiene - psychogenic stress and its prevention, psychohygiene of sleep and leisure time, psychohygienic types of mental freshness. Alimentary infections, goods manipulation. Hygienic requirements regarding the school facilities - capacity, location and school land, school building, classroom furniture, toilets. School hygiene with the focus on microclimate - heating, airing, lighting, noise protection, clean-up.

After passing the course students should be able to: - Characterise hygiene as a field of study - Define the basis of personal hygiene for pupils - Explain the basis of biorhythms - Describe the workplace hygiene - Demonstrate the connection between learning hygiene and mental hygiene - Name the alimentary infections - Summarise the hygienic requirements regarding the school facilities - Analyse the school hygiene with the focus on microclimate
After passing the course student should acquire the competence to: - Detect the mistakes in personal hygiene for pupils - Create a summary of hygiene strategies concerning one particular school building - Demonstrate the connection between learning hygiene and mental hygiene concerning one particular pupil |
