Course content
1. The concept of anthropology as a complex set of human sciences. An individual from the bio-socio- cultural perspective. The concept of integral anthropology in the world and in the Czech Republic. The application of anthropological knowledge in the profession of a pedagogue/teacher. 2. Man as a common object of interest in anthropology and pedagogy. The individual and the society in pedagogical anthropology. The issue of human variability in anthropology and pedagogy. The philosophy of humanistic anthropology. Applications in pedagogy. 3. The fundamentals of biological anthropology and its significance in the profession of a pedagogue/teacher. Current biological anthropology and its perspective. Variability and morphology of the human body in the socio - cultural context. The role of heredity, natural selection and the external environment on the variability of the organism in relation to the ontogenetic development of the human being. Applications in pedagogy. 4. The fundamentals of social and cultural anthropology and their importance in the profession of a pedagogue/teacher. Selected anthropological theories. The issue of kinship, marriage and family. Issues of spirituality, faith and religion. Holidays, traditions and rituals and their significance in human life and the society. The application of such knowledge in pedagogy. 5. The fundamentals of philosophical anthropology and their importance in the profession of a pedagogue. Man and globalization. The global issues of mankind. The crises of civilized societies and the ways to overcome them from the perspective of integral human sciences. Applications in pedagogy. 6. The paradigm of applied anthropology. The use of anthropological knowledge in pedagogical practice. Changes to the content/curriculum and objectives of education in relation to the changes in human societies. Education in the multicultural, intercultural and intra-cultural context. 7. The methodology of anthropological disciplines. Practical applications in the educational process, in the profession of a pedagogue/teacher.

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to provide the students with knowledge and skills of integrally conceived anthropology that may later be applied in the profession of a pedagogue/teacher.
Student displays knowledge of human sciences with the ability to discover mutual relations creatively and is able to use the knowledge of humanities and natural sciences in the theory and practice, with respect to the role of a pedagogue/teacher.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Dialog, Seminar Work

Attendance in lectures. Submitting of a written paper on the topic of "The Use of Anthropological knowledge in the work of a pedagogue/teacher" (with citation of at least one foreign author - translation from a world language) and its defense prior to the oral colloquium. The oral colloquium - display knowledge of human sciences with the ability to discover mutual relations creatively and to use the knowledge of humanities and natural sciences in the theory and practice, with respect to the role of a pedagogue/teacher.
