Course content
Topics: Quality of care, quality legislation, manager, management in nursing, planning, organization, leadership, motivation, team, adaptation process, historical development of quality issues in health care, audit, accreditation, certification, quality of health care indicators, care, quality management of health care, standard, standards creation, preparation of audit investigation and its evaluation, organization of time, tasks, work and duties of managers in the organization, effective team work, risk management, risk definition, risk classification, , extraordinary events

Learning outcomes
After completing the course students should be able to: - Define the concept of quality of care, risk of care, - characterize basic legislative documents related to quality and crisis management - explain the terms auditing, accreditation, health care quality indicators, managed health care, standard, - actively participate in the development of standards, - analyze the results of the audit, - conduct audit work within the framework of the practice, - classify risk and describe methods of risk reduction, - Provide strategies to prevent emergencies, - Explain the principles of time management.
Student: - has a comprehensive knowledge of the system of health sciences and nursing; - knows diagnostic systems in nursing; - is familiar with the nursing conceptual models; - understands the theoretical basis of human values and needs, is able to idetify them; - is able to use life stories in teaching; - knows the methodology of documentation of nursing practise; - is familiar with the issue of Evidence Based Practice, is able to explain it and give an example from the practice; - is able to prepare high-quality scientific article for publication; - is able to search databases for relevant sources from the field of nursing (to prepare systematic review); - is able to implement knowledge from this course into his/her teaching practise.

Prerequisite is graduation of bachelor study

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Seminar Work

Attendance: mandatory at the first and the last lecture, at seminars at least 80%. Semester work of at least 5 pages - finding and interpretation of evidence from the field of nursing research (systematic review of the field of nursing research). Colloquium: Knowledge of the subject matter of thematic areas.
