Course content
Health care system in the Czech Republic. Selected medical fields (neurology, audiology, geriatrics, endocrinology, genetics). Active search and satisfying biological, psychological and social needs of the patient and a healthy person. Children in Hospital. Geriatric patient in hospital. Care for patients with selected diseases. The basic legislation in health care. Basic documentation in health care (medical reports, news, mandatory reporting, statistics).

Learning outcomes
Discipline is focused on an active search and satisfying biological, psychological and social needs of the patient and a healthy person in the care of his health. Furthermore, to maintain and promote health, restoration of health and the development of self-sufficiency, alleviating the suffering of the terminally ill person and ensuring a peaceful death and dying, and all this in the context of the Czech health care system.
Student: - describes the health care system in the Czech Republic; - characterizes the basic needs and their satisfaction; - give specifics child and seniors care in a hospital; - spell out the specifics of care for patients with selected disease; - give basic health legislation and documentation.
Prerequisites
Mastering the previous health and social disciplines.

Student performance

Processing, submission and defense of a life story according to specified requirements.
