After completing the course, students will be able to: " orient themselves in the literary production of the United Kingdom in the period under discussion, " name and characterize its representative authors " expand their knowledge about the history and realia of the United Kingdom on the basis of independent reading, "interpret texts within the author's life, historical background and contemporary perspective, " assess the quality of literary texts, " summarize the thematic areas for the teaching of which a selected literary text can be used within the ELT lessons, and the language knowledge and skills that this course will develop
