Topics: Academic writing styles. Avoiding plagiarism. Citations, paraphrasing, summarizing. Compiling bibliography. Referencing. Planning, structuring, writing and editing an academic essay.

Learning outcomes
|
Aims: After completing the course students will be able to: - characterise academic writing in terms of appropriate style, language structures and vocabulary, - recognize and avoid various kinds of plagiarism, - effectively quote, paraphrase and summarize various types of resources, - compile bibliography and provide in-text referencing, - plan, structure, write and edit a short academic essay.
