Course content
Psychological background to foreign language learning and foreign language acquisition, teaching methods and principles, communicative language teaching, classroom language as a means of communication between the teacher and pupils, textbooks, classroom interaction, Planning teaching, heterogeneous classes, pairwork, groupwork, individual work, teching English to very young learners,using games, drama and children´s literature in FL classroom, teaching children with specific learning difficulties, errors, assessment,cross-curricular links,multiculturalism, Comenius.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to provide the students who intend to finish their studies at the bachelor´s level with an opportunity to study the fundamental areas of ELT methodology. Attention will be paid, for example, to some basic teaching approaches and methods, classroom interaction in heterogeneous classes, teaching foreign languages across different age and proficiency levels, errors, assessment and evaluation, cross-curricular approach, teaching pupils with specific educational needs etc.

Student performance, Didactic Test

80% attendance, active participation, completion of all classwork. Submission of an essay (500-600) words. Keeping a reading log and its defence during an oral exam - passing line is 70%.
