The content of the lessons will be modified according to students' needs; below is the suggested list of topics. complex and compound sentence; types of subordinate clauses; word order; sentence condensation; ellipsis; infinitives; functional sentence perspective; cleft constructions; Czech one-element sentences and their English counterparts; collective nouns; present participle, gerund, infinitive; modal verbs and their periphrastic forms; indefinite pronouns; fronting

Learning outcomes
|
The course again offers more detailed practice of the grammar covered in language practice and syntax lessons. Practical as well as theoretical issues related to differences in grammar terminology are discussed.
