Course content
1.Introduction to surgery, specifics of the field, workplace equipment. 2.Caring for surgical patients, basic surgical procedures, nomenclature, infections. 3.Surgery of the brain, facial and neck surgery. 4.Surgery of the chest wall, diaphragm and mediastinal surgery, lung and pleura surgery. 5.Abdominal wall, congenital abdominal wall defects, hernias. 6.Surgery of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum and spleen. 7.Slim, colon and rectal surgery. 8.Surgery of liver and biliary tracts and pancreas. 9.Surgery of the heart and large vessels. 10.Sudden abdominal events, meaning and differential diagnosis. 11.Transplantation and replantation. 12.Basic information on urological problems. 13.Endoscopy in surgery, laparoscopic and non-invasive surgery. 14.Surgical oncology. Complex care for patients with malignant disease.

Surgery is a professional theoretical and practical subject. The course is to provide knowledge and skills of general and special surgery suitable for the professional activity of physiotherapist.
The student will get acquainted with basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in surgery.
