1.Purpose and concept of the field of forensic medicine. Death. Posthumous changes. The work of the forensic doctor at the place of found body. Autopsy. 2.Sudden and unexpected deaths. 3.Forensic traumatology and histology. Types of wounds. Gunshot injuries. 4.Forensic traumatology and histology. Choking. Traffic accidents. 5.Pedopathology. 6.Importance of forensic medical expertise - accident, suicide, murder. 7.Fundamentals of forensic toxicology. 8.System of law and legal order in the Czech Republic. 9.Basic legal concepts. 10.Health service providers and their fundamental rights and obligations, medical records, confidentiality, insurance, professional self-governing chambers. 11.Basic rights and obligations of patients - informed consent. 12.Basics of civil liability - assumptions of responsibility. 13.Labour-legal relations in healthcare and labour-law liability of employer and employee. 14.Criminal liability, disciplinary liability, in general.

The course consists of two large separate units. In the first part students are acquainted with the scope and concept of the field of forensic medicine. It provides students with information on forensic traumatology, histology and toxicology. The second part of the course introduces the students to the legal regulations governing the provision of health services in the Czech Republic. They are acquainted with the types of legal liability and the resulting rights and obligations.
Acquiring of basic information about the field of forensic medicine, about the rights and obligations in the field of health care provision.
