Course content
|
Most common malignant tumour in our population, risk factors. Imporatance of anti-smoking agenda, healthy nutrition, risks of sexual behaviour in cancer genesis and role of environmental factors. Health supporting programmes and other legislative possibilites of interference with cancer risk factors. Screening programmes. Reasons for late diagnostics and how to deal with this problem. Early diagnostics of breast cancer, skin cancer and cancer of gastrointestinal and urogenital system.

Learning outcomes
|
Students will acquire information about the risk factors of cancer development and acquire basic knowledge of how to influence these factors. They will become acquiented with aspects of early cancer detection of the more frequent malignant tumors. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of screening programmes.
Upon conclusion, students will be able to apply their knowledge to cancer prevention and patient education.
