Obsah předmětu

The course will focus on the principles of adequate antibiotic treatment of serious and life-threatening bacterial infections in specific patients. The following requirements will be discussed: - early initiation of antibiotic treatment, - optimal selection of a specific antibiotic, possibly combinations thereof, - sufficient dosage, - appropriate length of antibiotherapy.

The aim of the course is to inform students with the practical management of antibiotic treatment for a particular patient according to the principles of Antibiotic stewardship.
Based on the completion of the course and successful completion of the final written test, the student will be able to choose the optimal initial antibiotic treatment and further modify it according to current principles of Antibiotic stewardship.
