Course content

Information sources for stomatology. Bibliometry for quality measurement of information. The fundamentals of biomedical statistics. Office software capability and its application conditions. Image information processing. Specialized software for dental medicine. Principles of documents creation. Image and X-ray picture analysis.

Learning outcomes
|
Students becomes familiar with basics of informatics, informatics technology and application software oriented to both the general and specialized medical applications. Practical skillness oriented to dentistry and stomatology is emphasized. Another part of their education is oriented to computer network applications with outcome on Internet tools application in their specialization.
Students will have practical skillness on special software used in stomatology for dental ward management and patient database. Another special application knowledge will be given on diagnostic and therapy dedicated software. Remarkable part of the knowledge obtained is dedicated to bibliographic systems and datamining to give a powerful tool for the university study and continuous education in their dental practice.

Students ought to have fundamental attainments in informatics and computer technology at the secondary education level.
