1. Organization of Czech healthcare and health care in the context of information systems. National Health Information System. National eHealth strategy. 2. Basics of computer science: priciple, informations, data, computer science limitations. eHealth. Telemedicine. 3. Database systems: data types and data representation, DBMS (DataBase Management System), data processing in database, database models 4. Information systems: concept and system definition, creation of IS. Hospital information systems (HIS). Computer graphics: image representation, characteristics and image processing, PACS. 5. Computer network: protocol principles in the Internet (TCP/IP) 6. Security: security and data protection principles

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students organization of Czech health care in the context of information systems. The course provides students basic information in the areas of information and database systems, computer networks and image processing. Students will also learn about the principles of data security.

Individual thesis presentation of selected projects in health care information systems and e-health. 100% attendance at practicals.
