Course content

Basic and general principles of differencial diagnosis. Differential diagnosis of the most common symtpoms of internal diseases (splenomegaly, adenopathy, hematomegaly, icterus, arthritis, bleeding, obstipation, weight loss, anaemia, high sedimentation rate, fever, etc.)

Learning outcomes
|
Definition and importance of differential diagnosis in internal medicine, introduction in differential diagnostic schemes in selected clinical and laboratory conditions. Problems of differential diagnosis in internal medicine with practical analysis of case reports with characteristic clinical, laboratory, radiology findings.
Student will be able to use the knowledge in the process of diagnosis and selection of the appropriate procedures.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of internal medicine according requirements of 3.-5. year of Medical Faculty.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Dialog
Completion of at least 12 of the 13 seminars and successful completion of the final test. In case of excused absence, elaboration of a seminar work devoted to a topic assigned to the head of differential diagnostics in Internal Medicine.
