Course content
|
1. The role of echocardiography in diagnostics of congenital heart defects. Basics of prenatal echocardiographic screening, new tools of cardiac imaging (CT, MRI) in children (2 hours). 2. Hemodynamic monitoring in critical ill children at ICU (2 hours). 3. Myocarditis, infectious endocarditis, anthracycline cardiotoxicity in children (2 hours). 4. Sudden cardiac death in childhood, cardiovascular pre-participation screening of young competitive athletes. Kawasaki disease; Practical training at Echo Lab of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology (4 hours).

Learning outcomes
|
We would like to improve knowledge of students in the subject of Pediatric Cardiology. Lessons are particularly focussed on an acute cardiological care at pediatric intensive care units (ICUs), on a hemodynamic monitoring, new tools of cardiac imaging (MRI, CT, echocardiography), on a sudden cardiac death and on a cardiotoxicity of the chemotherapy from the childhood to the adolescence. Each student will pass a practical training at Echo Lab of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology.
Students must have mastered the basics and treating pediatric patient instructional portion of pediatrics.
