Acquisition of basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills through assessing all components of children's development in the individual age groups, the ability to recognize common childhood diseases in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine (EBM).
After finishing the courses, students must be able to master the issue of health and illness of a human individual from birth to adulthood. They will be able to examine a child or an adolescent independently and expertly, to assess his/her development in all its components, to find eventual abnormalities. Within the scope of primary and secondary prevention they will master the procedures of preventive check-ups, the day-to-day functioning of the ward including the regime of night emergency. They will recognize a pathological finding when performing physical examination on the basis of which they should be able to indicate laboratory and other auxiliary examinations and interpret their results. They will master general principles as well as singularities of childhood pharmacotherapy, rehabilitation care and psychological support, also with regard to family, school and social environment. The rigorous state examination also involves assessment of a written presentation of a child patient examined by the student (case report) and the search of recent literary resources in accordance with the principles of EBM.

Acquisition of basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills for evaluation of all components of childhood development in individual age categories.The ability to recognize common childhood diseases and interpretation of laboratory findings in accordance with evidence-based medicine (EBM) and knowledge of the principles of correct nutrition and complex care of the child. The understanding of pediatric clinical methods as a prerequisite for particular childhood diseases.
