Course content
Main topics: 1. Principles of electronic communication, legal regulations, establishment and operation of radio networks 2. Organisation of communication within the IRS, communication between operational centres, communication at the intervention site 3. Basic concepts (principles of signal propagation, network topology, simplex, duplex) 4. Radio communication in an analogue radio network a. communication frequencies b. legislation and operating guidelines c. communications equipment, converters and other equipment d. radio communication principles, call signs, specific services (status, group communications, selective dialling) e. practical examples of connections 5. Radio communication in the digital radio network - PEGAS a. principles of information transmission, networks and modes (IDR, DIR) b. Legislation and operational guidelines c. communication equipment - terminals, IDR repeaters d. radio communication principles, RFSI call signs, specific network services e. Practical demonstrations of connections 6. Specific radio and telephone communication networks (private call networks, pagers) 7. information systems in the framework of the activities of the Emergency Medical Services and the IRS units a. GIS, information portals b. Terminals for the transfer of information between the vehicle, the operations centre and other devices c. Caller location 8. Specific conditions for the use of communication and information systems in the emergency services

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to familiarise with systems for information exchange within the Integrated Rescue System as a necessary part of preparation for the profession of a paramedic. It is designed to enable the paramedic to use radio communication means and other systems and to cooperate with other components of the Integrated Rescue System when necessary.
