Course content |
1. General traumatology - trauma, monotrauma, associated injuries, polytrauma, bone and joint injuries - treatment principles, soft tissue injuries, open fractures, crush syndrome and compartment syndrome, complications. 2. Special traumatology - craniocerebral trauma, spinal and spinal injuries, facial skeleton, chest, abdomen, pelvis, upper and lower extremities. 3. Principles of PTLS and ATLS 4. Differences in the care of acutely injured children, pregnant women and gerontos 5. Surgery and traumatology for mass disasters and natural disasters 6. War surgery and traumatology

Learning outcomes |
The aim of the subject is to provide knowledge and skills of general and special traumatology for the professional activities of the medical rescuer. Emphasis on diagnostics, therapy, prevention and resolution of complications of urgent surgical conditions in adults and children, and also focuses on specific situations in emergencies or war conflicts.
Upon completion of the course students will be able to:- Specify terms - trauma, monotrauma, associated injuries, polytrauma- to know the principles of treatment for soft tissue injuries, open fractures, crush syndrome and compartment syndrome- know procedures for craniocerebral injuries, spinal and spinal cord injuries, facial skeleton, chest, abdomen, pelvis and limbs- Specify surgery and traumatology for mass disasters and natural disasters- Know the specifics of care in acutely injured children, pregnant women and gerontos- Understand PTLS and ATLS principles |
