Topics of seminars and practical lectures: 1.Introduction to first aid, basic classification, definition of terms. 2.Provision of life-saving interventions (resuscitation) according to Guidelines 2015. 3.Automated external defibrillators, practice of use. 4.Diagnostics of basic life functions. 5.Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (classification) in children and adults. 6.Managing physical and chemical influences on the organism. 7.Haemorrhage and treatment of large wounds. 8.How to handle a patient in shock. 9.First aid in unconsciousness. 10.First aid in injuries of bones, joints - fixation. 11.First aid for head injuries, spine, spinal cord. 12.Therapeutic positioning, patient transport. 13.Extrication methods, types of wounds. 14.Mass disaster. 15.First aid kit

The course first aid introduces the issues of pre-hospital emergency care with an emphasis on practical skills and handling tools in the terrain in patients with life-threatening condition.
After completing the course, the student gains basic knowledge and practical first aid skills needed to manage acute life-threatening conditions.
