Course content
|
Introduction to the qualifying training midwives and their competence in the Czech Republic. Familiarization with curriculum of the study program of Midwifery in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Palacky University in Olomouc. Participation in activities organized by the Institute of Midwifery (conferences, professional excursions, hands-on training and more. To acquaint students with the organization and running of midwife care for women during pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
|
In the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme foreign students will write essay which compares training in the country where they underwent thoretical training to the place where they take practical training. Students will be able to compare the differences in the workload of midwives in the Czech Republic and their country.
Students will be able to analyze, describe and explain the differences in the work of midwives in their home country and in the country.

Prerequisites
|
The Student is well versed in the issue of the provision of care midwife in the home country. Knows the legislation related to the issue of midwifery. He knows his remit and job description on the professional clinical practice.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Essay, Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student
Completion of practical training, familiarization with the competencies of midwives as current legislation relating to the work of midwives at all levels of care provision for women. Seminar paper.
