The course is conceived as a theoretical-practical unit with emphasis on the latest scientifically verified data concerning health literacy in relation to health promotion. It provides students with a comprehensive overview of the standard range of health literacy for patients. It focuses on acquiring knowledge about effective educational and intervention strategies of health literacy. It allows them to acquire skills for implementing educating patients of all ages and social groups in the areas of lifestyle, reduction of bad habits, care (home) environment, disease prevention, nursing care and safe behavior.
