Course content
Main topics of the subject: Clinical classification of cancer, etiology and prevention of tumor proliferation Pathology of tumors, general symptomatology, diagnosis of tumors The therapy of malignant tumors, and its undesirable effects Specifics of nursing care for patients with mucositis, care of skin integrity. Specifics of nursing care for patients with cancer of the colon and rectum, including the specifics of a stoma Specifics of nursing care for patients with cancer pain Specifics of nursing care for patients with end stage and hospice care Sterile boxes - barrier care

Learning outcomes
The subject is the complex includes of subjects from clinical nursing. It characterizes clinical states in oncology for the nursing care the needs of patients and altered in connection with oncological diseases. Introduces students to etiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options, complications, prevention and screening programs for patients with selected oncological disease. Provides an overview of specificities of nursing care for oncological patients, especially in the assessment of patient needs, prioritization of needs, describe the nursing problems, planning of nursing care, including the education of the patient with cancer. Exercises are led by "Problem based learning" (PBL) method.
The subject introduces students to etiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options, complications, prevention and screening programs for patients with selected oncological disease. Provides an overview of specificities of nursing care for oncological patients, especially in the assessment of patient needs, prioritization of needs, describe the nursing problems, planning of nursing care, including the education of the patient with cancer.
