The subject includes a total of 26 hours. of which 8 are contact and 18 non-contact. Main topics: - trends in the development of nursing in the world - development of nursing in Europe - development of nursing in Czechoslovakia - development of nursing in the Czech Republic - important personalities of world nursing - important personalities of Czech nursing

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is designed as theoretical. It introduces students to the historical development of nursing in our country and around the world and to important figures in the field. It also outlines the history of midwifery and the present of midwifery and the history of medicine in general and introduces important figures in these areas. It also deals with the development of education and the current state of education in nursing and midwifery. Part of the course is an overview of the basic legislative standards of the EU and the Czech Republic related to nursing. An integral part is the history of the development of the image and position of general nurses in the world and in the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course students will know: the historical development of the field, understand the current issues of the field; be motivated for the active cooperation in solving actual issues and be able to apply critical way of thinking with a systematic approach.
