Course content
The total scope of the course is 30 hours, of which 10 hours are contact and 20 hours are non-contact. Definition of the main topics of the course: - Characteristics of nursing as a discipline - Historical development of nursing in the world and in the Czech Republic - The philosophy of nursing science - The subject of nursing

Learning outcomes
The course focuses on the theoretical basis of the study program in nursing. It explains the nursing discipline as a system modern concept of science, which is defined by its own holistic philosophy with the value system under examination, theoretical models, conceptual apparatus - standardized nursing terminology and classification systems and scientific methodology. This course is an overview of the development of nursing in the historical context in the world and in the Czech Republic, multicultural dimension of nursing care needs of person, families and communities. In order to increase efficiency in health care systems and to ensuring quality health care for the population subject acquainted with the current and current trends and their predescribed main tasks and functions of nursing in society.
Student is able to explain the core of nursing and its historical foundations, focus and philosophy. Understand the basic concepts of nursing and the relationships between them in connection with the modern trends of nursing
