Course content
Enteral and parenteral administration of drugs, injections, intravenous approaches, intravenous administration of injections and infusions, transfusions, handling with drugs (ordering, storage, expiration, effects, basic indication groups). Taking biological samples for examination.

Learning outcomes
The course is designed both as theoretical and practical. It includes chapters of nursing such as nursing process, health education, quality management in nursing etc. and in the practical level it teaches nursing activities and actions that are important at radiology units such as administration of drugs, injections and infusions, the care for hydratation, excretion, nutrition of patients, wound dressing, probing of the gastrointestinal tract etc. The aim is to prepare the student for a three-week nursing practice at standard hospital wards i.e. internal, surgical and pediatric wards. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
On completion of the course students will: know the nursing process; know the principles of safe and high-quality nursing care; manage selected nursing procedure and be prepared for the communication with the patient and the attending staff.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic Test, Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student, Seminar Work

Attendance, test, demonstration and theoretical reasoning of a procedure in practical intervention. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
