Course content
|
Students are taught selected terminology of multicultural nursing - ethnicity, culture, spirituality, belief, religion. They are presented with basic characteristics of selected ethnic, cultural, and religious groups. Nurses are provided with the initial knowledge with which they can adapt the nursing process in clients with respect to their ethnic, cultural and spiritual particularities. It is aimed for those deeply interested in issues of ethnics, cultures and nationalities within the context of nursing care provision.

Learning outcomes
|
Students are taught selected terminology relevant to transcultural nursing - ethnicity, culture, spirituality, faith, religion - and they are presented with basic characteristics of selected ethnic, cultural and religious groups. They are provided with the initial knowledge necessary for their ability to adapt the nursing process in clients while respecting their ethnic, cultural and spiritual background. The subject is primarily aimed at students interested in studying ethnic, cultural and nationality issues related to the provision of health care.
On completion of the course, students are expected: to be able to correctly grasp the concepts of ethnicity, culture, spirituality, belief, religion; to know the basic characteristics of selected ethnic, cultural, and religious groups; and be able to adapt the nursing process for it to meet the clients' specific ethnic, cultural and spiritual needs.
