Course content
The course is part of a complex of subjects from clinical nursing. It introduces students to basic diagnostic, therapeutic and nursing procedures in pediatric surgery. Main topics of the seminars: Congenital disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and the basic principles of their surgical treatment; acute abdominal conditions in children; surgical treatment of diseases of the liver and biliary tract; basic surgical procedures for the treatment of diseases of the urological tract. Main topics of exercise: The exercises are aimed at a comprehensive assessment of needs in children related to a given type of disease. Practice the nursing process, its individual stages (defining nursing problems, specialized nursing care plans) in model situations in children with selected surgical diseases.

The course is part of a complex of subjects from clinical nursing. It introduces students to basic diagnostic, therapeutic and nursing procedures in pediatric surgery. The total scope of the course is 37 hours, of which 21 are contact and 16 hours are non-contact.
