Course content
Medical devices - owner - visions and missions - financing and cooperation with health insurance companies - cooperation with local and state government and administration - organizational structure - organizational rules Selected department of the medical facility - organizational structure (incl. graphics) - management methods - personnel structure (regular employees, part-time employees, agreements on work activities, agreements on work performance, internships) Managerial overview - development of operational and professional indicators - economic results for the last 3-5 years Working with information - information systems - health documentation - GDPR - informed consent - patients' rights - effectiveness and quality of health records Human Resource Management - shift planning, solution of staff outages - provision of routine and emergency services - entry of a new employee (employment, documentation, procedures) - adaptation process of a new employee - methods for monitoring and evaluating employee satisfaction Medical services from the manager's point of view - client/patient admission, ordering, rejection, translations, dismissal - methods for monitoring and evaluating client/patient satisfaction Line manager - interpersonal, information, decision-making and administrative activities - control activities 2 other topics according to the student's interest

Learning outcomes
Management practice takes place in a state or non-state medical facility providing acute, care - inpatient and outpatient facilities or institutions providing community care (eg home care agencies, institutions providing outpatient services, institutions, hospices, etc.). The scope of practice is aimed at gaining basic knowledge about individual facilities providing health care, their activities and management: ownership and structure of facilities, vision and mission, cooperation with health insurance companies and local authorities, professional and economic ties, management models and methods, information systems and work with information, human resources management, development of operational and professional indicators, work with patients / clients and ethical issues of care provided.
After graduation, the student will: - understand the models and methods of management of medical facilities - understand the main professional and economic links of the medical facility and the development of basic operational and professional indicators, - able to evaluate the processes of ordering, receiving, discharging and overloading patients, - know the basics of working with information and documentation about the care provided, - able to critically evaluate the ethics of care provided and the corporate culture of the medical facility - able to assess the personnel policy of the medical facility and its specific department, including the processes of hiring and firing employees, remuneration of employees - able to assess the management and leadership of a specific section of non-medical health professions - evaluate the process of management and continuous quality improvement in the medical facility

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Certificate of Graduation of Internship, Final Report

Completion of practice in the appropriate time range. Filling in and submitting a logbook with mentor confirmation and submitting a protocol from practice. Protocol requirements: - a brief description of the workplace where the traineeship was carried out - own reflection on the knowledge gained in practice - SWOT analysis of a specific selected area/issues identified in practice and on its basis a proposal for the development/procedure/decision of the medical facility/department/manager - protocol range is max. 2 A4 pages
