Course content
Management in Nursing provides information about identification and understanding the dynamics of changes in the society, systemic approach and proven methods of problem-solving, basic knowledge of applied management. The subject prepares students for current challenges that they will encounter in their organizations and that they will participate in (e.g. quality management - producing standards, preparing and analyzing audits, working with general public, managing their own time, understanding the tasks, work and duties of managers in organizations, performing effective teamwork.

Learning outcomes
Students are taught how to identify and understand the dynamics of changes in the society; the systems approach and established methods of problem solving; and the issues of applied management. They are prepared for the tasks encountered in the organizations in which they will participate such as quality management - creation of standards, preparation of audit and its evaluation, public relations, working and leisure time management, effective performance in a team environment, etc.
Students will be able: to explain the increasing significance of management in the area of nursing; to apply basic principles and methods of management in every day nursing practice of a nurse/midwife of the first level; to carry out all management functions; to recognize the workplace policy and to choose suitable team strategy; to use and apply proper management techniques and work policy and to carry out quality management in midwifery.
