Course content
|
Epidemiology definition, relationship between medical disciplines, the possibilities of its application and its importance for the protection and promotion of health. Introduction to non-infectious diseases. The prevention. Epidemiology of important non-infectious diseases (cardiovascular, metabolic, oncological and neurodegenerative diseases) Epidemiology of selected infectious diseases. Actual epidemiological situation. Patterns in infection spreading model. Vaccination in The Czech Republic. Diseases associated with staying in a health facility. Disinfection and sterilisation Basic epidemiological methodology. Evidence Based Medicine. Influence of the selected environmental ans occupational factors to public health.

Learning outcomes
|
The course is based on the goals of the national health program. The content of the course is the study of selected infectious and chronic non-infectious diseases, which significantly affect the health of the population in the Czech Republic, and the impact of the living and working environment on human health. Students will gain knowledge in the field of protection and promotion of public health.
