Course content
1) Introduction to Occupational therapy 2) Exercise and instructions 3) The Musculoskeletal system - bones, joints, muscles; injuries 4) The Cardiovascular system and rehabilitation 5) The Respiratory system and rehabilitation 6) The Nervous system and rehabilitation

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Methods of Written Work, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization), Group work
Learning outcomes
Developing knowledge of general healthcare English; reviewing grammar structures with focus on field-specific language; mastering basic field-specific vocabulary; developing communication skills in English with patients/clients in Occupational therapy; establishing a baseline for further use of English in professional practice and in communication with patients. Developing the ability to read and understand technical texts in English.
The aim is to master and deepen knowledge of basic specialized terminology; to develop all language skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing) beyond the B1+ level, with a focus on rehabilitation, particularly communication with patients.
Prerequisites
English proficiency at least B1. Completion of HUM/ETA20.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Written exam

Successful completion of the seminars (80% attendance), active participation in classes, completion of written tests, an in-class student presentation on a given topic, and a written exam.
