Course content
1.Status of psychiatry, legal aspects of psychiatric disorders, specific problems with mentally ill. 2.Basic mental functions, basics of psychiatric therapy. 3.Overview of psychotherapeutic methods. 4.Organic psychological disorders, forensic aspects, patient demonstration - video, approach of problems of organic psychological disorders, psychotherapy. 5.Schizophrenia, delusions with delusions, forms of resocialization, patient demonstrations, care for patients with schizophrenic disorders, psychotherapy. 6.Affective disorders, patient demonstrations, nursing procedures for care of a patient with affective disorders, psychotherapy. 7.Neurotic disorders, acute stress response, patient demonstration, patient care with neurological disorders, psychotherapy. 8.Personality disorders, rules for dealing with abnormal personalities, principles of assertiveness. 9.Psychiatric disorders in childhood and adolescence, general questions, psychotherapy in children. 10.Eating disorders, patient demonstration - video, visit a centre for treatment of eating disorders, psychotherapy in Educational and psychological counselling centre. 11.Mental and behavioural disorders caused by alcohol use, patient demonstration, approach to alcoholism, psychotherapy. 12.Mental disorders caused by the effect of psychoactive substances, patient demonstration, psychotherapy. 13.Somatoform disorders, psychotherapy in psychosomatic disorders. 14.Dissociative disorders, psychotherapy. 15.Rehabilitation of mentally ill, integrative care in psychotherapy. The total hours for the course is 54, of which in-person classes 30 and home-prep classes 24.

Learning outcomes
The course Psychiatry and Psychotherapy is to describe the basics of diagnostics and treatment of selected psychiatric illnesses.
The aim of the study course is to theoretically acquaint students with the possibilities of examination and treatment of psychiatric illnesses.
