Course content
|
Topics of practical lectures: -Practice is focused on neonatal examination - examination and evaluation of primitive reflexes, spontaneous movement and provoked reactions. Based on the examination students will learn how to establish global model of child's psychomotor age or determine the degrees of central coordination disorder. -Certified physiotherapist will explain and show them the principles of Vojta reflex locomotion and Bobath concept. -Students will also acquire knowledge of the specifics of respiratory physiotherapy in children (neurophysiological facilitation breathing, respiratory hygiene techniques, breath ingexercises, train ingofrespiratory muscles, practicing inhalation technique and others). -Students will be introduced to the possibilities of instrumented respiratory rehabilitation (flutter, acapella choice and other strainer) and thein potential use in the most frequent diagnoses. -In intensive care for newborns students will become familiar with the monitoring of children, the concept of basal stimulation, kangaroo care and position as per developmental kinesiology. -The focus of rehabilitation at the pediatric clinics on children with cystic fibrosis, haemophilia, children with hematoma cancer diagnoses. The total hours for the course is 54, of which in-person classes 30 and home-prep classes 24.

Learning outcomes
|
Clinical practice in pediatrics and neonatology takes place at the Neonatology department and the Pediatric Clinic.
The aim is a comprehensive examination of postural functions in children: posture, mastery of basic motor skills due to age, fine motor tests, examination trigonometric joint mobility and muscle test examination, and appropriate therapy.
