Main topics of the course: - the importance of public healthcare in the health care organisations and management of health care, - health status of Czech population - health care and health protection and promotion from the historial and current perspective - main determinant of health, possibilities of influencing them - types of prevention and their organisation in the system of public healthcare and health insurance of the CR, - WHO strategic programmes of health and their application in the CR, - health and social policy of the state, its importance, main goals and problems, tasks and concepts, - healthcare system and methods of their influence, - systems of health insurance. The system of health institutions and organisations in the CR and its organisational structure. - legal status of participants in health services. Systemic perspectives on health care, - social policy of the state, etc.

Learning outcomes
|
The course offers students basic knowledge on health policy at different levels of society and health institutions and its relationship to other social, legal and economic phenomena and various determinants of health. The study focuses on health situations and needs of population. It gives basic information on the breadth of the concept of both, health protection and health promotion. It looks at management of health care, including the ethical and legal aspect of care, on economy, justice and solidarity in health care, including the issue of health insurance, as well as sociology and psychology of health.
