Course content
|
The course aims to deepen the student's knowledge of the English language, to develop all parts of language skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing, and to test the ability to understand a professional text, to converse independently on a professional topic related to the disertation, present theses, metholodogy and research results). B2/C1 CEFR level of language is required. General language skills will be tested by a written test containing questions on general English gramatical structures, appropriate vocabulary and listening skills, including the ability to understand an unfamiliar academic text on the topic of nursing. The oral part of the exam will be in the form of a sub-exam in the English language, testing the ability to conduct scientific communication in English.

The course aims to deepn the students' knowledge of the English language, develop all parts of the language (speaking, reading, listening, writing) and verify the ability to understand academic text, independently converse on a scientific topic related to the disertation, present theses, metholodogy and research results. B2/C1 CEFT language level is required. General language skills will be verified by a written test on gramatical structures of the English language, vocabulary and listening skills, including the ability to comprehend an unfamiliar academic text on the topic of nursing. Oral exam will be in the form of an exam in the English language verifying the ability to carry on a conversation in academic English.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral exam, Written exam
Pre-exam credit requirement: passing a written test with listening. Final exam requirement: The exam takes the form of a presentation on the dissertation topic (thesis, design, methodology, hypotheses, expected/substantial results, contribution) according to the student's focus and subsequent discussion, all in English at the expected level.
