Course content
Preview on the examination of the movement in the general context. Selected standardized qualitative and quantitative clinical examinations. Introduction of the instrumental methods in the field of Kinesiology. Introduction of dynamic methods with respect to the evaluation of the postural stability with possible therapeutic applications. Basic knowledge of biomechanics and neurophysiology of posture control. Basic terminology. Closer specification of dynamic computer posturography systems Smart Equitest and Balance Master (NeuroCom) with regard to clinical interpretation of measurement results. Introduction of dynamic methods with respect to the evaluation of the gait cycle with possible therapeutic applications. Basic knowledge of biomechanics and neurophysiology of gait control, gait cycle deviation within movement pathology. Basic terminology. The particular specifications of the clinical usefulness of the treadmill with integrated forceplatform. Surface Electromyography. The basic principles of muscle contraction electrophysiology. The parameters which are evaluated in pEMG, signal processing and clinical interpretation of the results. Concrete examples of examination provided by rehabilitation computed technologies (pEMG, posturography, treadmills, robotic orthosis). Concrete examples of therapy provided by rehabilitation computed technologies (pEMG, posturography, treadmills, robotic orthosis).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present students current instrumental methods, which are used for objective assessment of both movement and movement disorders, with regard to their practical application in physical therapy.
Students will know current instrumental methods, which are used for quantitative objective movement analysis and analysis of locomotor system disorders and methodology of evaluation of measured data and their subsequent interpretation.
