Course content
Topics of seminars and practical lectures: 1. Ultrasonotherapy. The principles of action, the methods of application, dosage, indications, contraindications. 2. High-frequency therapy and magnetotherapy. Properties, classification, effects, application methods, indications, contraindications. 3. Phototherapy (for example Laser therapy). Effects, application methods, indications, contraindications. . 4. Thermotherapy and hydrotherapy. Basic concepts. Thermoregulation - vasomotor, sudomotor and metabolic. Average body temperature and factors affecting body temperature. Hydrotherapy. Indications and contraindications. Hyperthermia, hypothermia and cryotherapy. Thermotherapy - procedures. Sauna. Inhalation. Aerosols - aerodispersoids. Types of inhalers, effects of inhalation - indications and contraindications. Climatotherapy. Photoactive, thermal, chemical and neurotrophic complex. Indication of climatotherapy. Acclimatization. Meteorosensitivity and meteorotropism. Hydrotherapy procedures with massage effect. Additive baths. Bioclimatology. Balneotherapy. Healing waters. Peloids. Getting to know the workplace. Organization and safety at work. Application of hydrotherapy procedures (additive baths, bead and oxygen baths), total dry wrap, classic and segment massage. Scottish showers, underwater massage, paraffin wraps, pool exercises. Practicing hydrotherapy procedures on patients.

Learning outcomes
Objectives: Annotation: The course introduces and gives a rational view on the issue of non-specific reflex therapy and natural (physical) healing sources and their use in modern rehabilitation. Selected chapters of electrotherapy, thermotherapy, phototherapy, hydrotherapy and climatotherapy are presented.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of the basics of physics, biophysics and physiology.
