Course content
|
Basic approaches of scientific inquiry. Phases of scientific research. Criteria of scientism. Ethical principles, publication ethics. Types of data, work with the data. Research design. Methodology, choice of methods, techniques - their definition and application of research in midwifery. The structure of scientific abstracts and article - creation of theoretical assumptions / theoretical framework. Validity, reliability, practicality measurements. Analysis of the results and their interpretation.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject will teach students the basics of critical - scientific thinking: to understand the needs and importance of the scientific approach in the practice of midwifery. This requires the use of previously acquired knowledge of science (subjects) from nursing and humanities. Students will learn basic approaches to scientific knowledge, steps of the research process, selection of appropriate methods and techniques, processing and evaluation of the results of research investigations, as well as the preparation of evaluation research and creation of publication output (final reports, publication of results, etc.).
Students will understand the meaning and purpose of scientific approach, applicability in practice of midwifery. Students are able to prepare adequate design their own copyright research according to the basic paradigm of scientific method, statistical reasoning, learn the basic techniques and methods for collecting and analyzing data.

Mark, Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)
Attendance min. 80%. Part of the credit for the subject is the preparation, submission and subsequent defense (for testing) of a design of their own copyright research topic assigned by the teacher or of their own choice and justification.
