Course content

Annotation: Basic orientation on psychological principles influencing the sport and exercise participation and performance. Application of psychological knowledge in the practice of physiotherapists working in the field of recreation, performance and professional sport and physical exercise. Topics for seminars and practical lectures: 1. Introduction to sport and exercise psychology; 2. Personality: structure and relationship to sport and exercise; 3. The dynamics of motivation in sport and exercise; 4. Anxiety and stress management; 5. Interpersonal relationships and sport performance; 6. Communication; 7. Injury and psychological rehabilitation in sport; 8. Children and youth sport: positive youth development; 9. Burn-out in sport; 10. Applied sport psychology: introduction to psychological skills training; 11. Physical relaxation and arousal management; 12. Attentional focusing/thought control; 13. Goal setting, imagery; 14. Performance preparation, periodization of psychological preparation; 15. Effective psychological consulting.
