Course content
24. Personality under sports stress - Association of Sports Psychologists, state of mind during the starting process, coping with success and failure, anticipation of tension, methods and techniques of coping with psychosocial stress, 25. Personality in a sports group - group dynamics, group roles - specifics of sports environment, leading sports groups - leadership styles, communication within and with group, 26. Professiography - psychological characteristics of sports activities, sports typology, 27. Psychological preparation and psychological training - ideomotoric and modelled training, 28. Social and pathological phenomena - origination and development, basic concepts and categories; social perspective: normal - deviant - pathological; theories of social deviation/pathology, 29. Socialization and related disorders, 30. Measures and possibilities of addressing social pathological phenomena, 31. Social groups, social pathological groups, 32. Criminality, suicide rate, prostitution, 33. Alcoholism and drug addiction, 34. Vandalism, graffiti, 35. Mistreatment, abuse and neglecting children, issue of domestic violence.

Learning outcomes
The student takes a comprehensive exam from Psychology including the following topics: Psychology 1, Basics of psychology of sport and Basics of pathopsychology and social pathology. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student: Is able to learn, understand and interpret the knowledge of applied psychology.
Prerequisites
Completion of the following subjects: Psychology 1, Basics of psychology of sport and Basics of pathopsychology and social pathology.

Basics of general psychology - psychology, position in the system of sciences, definition of basic psychological concepts (experiencing, behaviour), basic psychological directions and approaches, 2. Attention and perception - significance and properties of perception, shape laws, perception disorders. Functions of attention, types and properties of attention, 3. Memory and thinking - types of memory, processes in memorizing, memory disorders. Forms of thinking (concrete, visual, abstract), thinking operations, thinking disorders, 4. Emotions and motivation - components and significance of emotions, classification of emotions (affects, moods, physical feelings, emotional relations), emotional intelligence; needs, motives, incentives, classification of motivation, motivation principles, motivation orientation, motivation climate; extrinsic and intrinsic motivation; reward and punishment, 5. Developmental psychology, theory of development, periodization of development - Piaget, Freud, Erikson. Developmental functions in various periods, 6. Early child development - newborn (reflexes), infant (principles of infant motor skills, development of thinking, emotional and social development), toddler (development of will, speech, resistance), particulars, developmental functions 7. Preschool child development and school maturity - developmental functions (thinking, memory, development of speech, will, emotions), school maturity (age, physical maturity, mental maturity, attention, memory), role of games 8. Younger school age child development - developmental functions (school adaptation, mental maturity, physical maturity) 9. Pre-puberty, puberty and adolescence - pre-puberty (mental and physical development), puberty (intelligence, social relationships), adolescence (main developmental function), attitudes to education. 10. Adulthood, ageing and old age - classification of adulthood and developmental functions (attitudes), developmental crises; specific attitudes to old people (morphological changes, mental changes, attitudes to ageing) 11. Psychology of education, concept of learning and related concepts - learning styles; principles of effective learning 12. Types of learning, basic principles of learning - learning through conditioning; motor learning; verbal concept-based learning; social learning; problem learning; experiential learning 13. Intelligence and creativity - description of the concept of intelligence; intelligence testing; structure of intelligence, theory of intelligence; creativity; intelligence-creativity relationship, development of creativity in pupils and students, 14. Stress situations, burn-out syndrome - stress; stages of stress response; physiological, emotional and psychological effects of stress; influence of stress on health; behaviour and health; mental hygiene; burn-out syndrome, stages of bur-out syndrome, 15. Communication - definitions, basic communication model, transaction communication model; types of communication; nonverbal communication, body language; types of nonverbal communication, effective listening, accepting criticism, feedback, 16. Concept of personality - basic definition, bio-psycho-socio-spiritual dimension, concepts of various schools of psychology, implicit theory of personality, 17.
