Course content
Topics: 1. Definition of the concept, history and principle of coaching, coaching process; coaching from the perspective of a sports psychologist and sports coach. Foundations of coaching (developmental, systemic, transaction and transformation). 2. Basic principles of the coaching process: - Coaching as an interview, GROW model, coaching questions, non-directivity. - Coaching as promotion of natural learning Inner Game. - Coaching as an approach promotion of the following coaching principles: trust, awareness, responsibility 3. Coaching in the training process; application in various age groups and career stages. Coaching techniques through tactics. Coaching through polarity. Coaching barriers. 4. Coaching in individual and team sport. 5. Coaching during a competition.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to teach basic knowledge and skills required for effective leading of an individual and group leading in a sports context. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the Coaching course the student: 1. Has the knowledge about the application of coaching in a sports context. 2. Understands the principle and process of coaching. 3. Has experience with coaching in model situations. 4. Has tested own abilities to coach in a professional environment.
Prerequisites
Completion of the Psychology of sport course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Systematic Observation of Student, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
