Course content

1. Wheelchair basketball, history, sources. 2. International rules of wheelchair basketball. 3. International classification of wheelchair basketball players. 4. Basic mobility on wheelchair. 5. Fundamental individual skills of offense (dribbling, passing and catching ball?) 6. Fundamental individual skills of offense (shooting, rebounding?) 7. Fundamental individual skills of defense. 8. Fun games and exercise in practice. 9. Pick and roll, modification during the game. 10. Combination offense. 11. Combination defense. 12. Theoretical and practical test. 13. Student's tournament.

Learning outcomes
|
Introduction into sport discipline wheelchair basketball, from recreational to sport level. Common principles and rules of the game. Moving and game skills, exercises and their application in practice. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
After successful completing the course: 1. Student knows rules of wheelchair basketball, he/she knows manager function of assistant referee. 2. Student has practical experience and ideas for organization teaching or coaching lessons of wheelchair basketball. 3. Student will master practically and theoretically other activities with similar content. 4. Student will know the impact of competitive sport on motor system of paraplegic athletes.

Knowledge of basketball rules, basics of mobility on wheelchair.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Didactic Test, Systematic Observation of Student
Active participation in lessons, a test of theoretical knowledge and a test of practical skills.
