Výstupy z učení

The objective of the course is to present basic information about the application of psychological knowledge in the area of physical education, physical recreation, performance and professional sport.
After taking the course, the student should be to understand basic principles influencing the behavior and experiencing in stress situations associated with physical activity. The student is able to apply psychological knowledge in the context of physical exercise (recreation, performance and professional sport). The student is motivated for further learning in the area as a part of lifelong education.

Esej, Analýza výkonů studenta
1. Class participation (6 points): students are expected to attend the classes. 2. Class engagement (4 points) 3. Research article oral presentation (20 points): Choose a research article from the field of sport psychology. A handout summarizing the article (1-2pages) will be distributed to classmates. Present critically the review of literature, methods, results and discussion. Practical applications should be provided along with future directions for research. 4. Group project (30 points): In groups of three, based on the literature review, outline psychological skills training plan for a team or individual athlete integrated into periodized yearly training program. You should provide descriptions of the techniques, implementation of the techniques into the cycles of the training program, suggest specific practical use of the techniques (what/when/how), describe the specific possible limits etc. (3-5 pages). Provide the PPT presentation to your classmates, each member of the group should participate (max 15 min., 12 slides) 5. Written examination (40 points): Address a sport psychology issue or problem, that an individual athlete or team could be experiencing and suggest possible solutions or arrangements that could be implemented into the training process. The paper should begin with introduction. You are asked to review the literature and provide report on the literature related to your topic. Think critically and try to provide the layout of the possible solutions or interventions. You should conclude the paper with the discussion and conclusion. Paper must be typed, 1,5 spaced, APA style, no longer than 5 pages.
