- Legislative requirements for guiding in the Czech Republic and EU. Types of guiding. - Ethical aspects of guiding. - Responsibilities of a tour guide during preparation and during the tour. - Dealing with extraordinary situations. - Tour of a city, preparation of the route and speech. - Responsibilities of a tour guide upon completion of the tour. - Practical part - tour of a city. - Final written test (open-ended questions).

Learning outcomes
|
The course provides an overview of guiding within organized tourism and introduces legislative requirements for guiding and responsibilities of a tour guide. During a tour of a city, which is a mandatory part of the course, the students acquire practical experience in guiding. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student: - Has an overview of legislative requirements for guiding. - Knows and can explain different types of guiding. - Can apply the responsibilities of a tour guide in practice. - Can deal with extraordinary events during a tour.

Written exam, Student performance
- Practical presentation of guiding. - Successful completion of a final written test (70%).
