Course content
|
Sport classification. Institutional sport framework in the Czech Republic and EU. Sports club economy. Current sport financing in the Czech Republic. Sports club professionalization. Czech Sports Union. Tax and insurance duties related to sport competition and position of sportsmen and officials. Sport and media. Competition rules, regulations on participation of the foreign players in the Czech Republic, transfer rules, disciplinary rules, trainer rules. Regulations on sports federation economy, regulations on reimbursement of travel costs, sports organisation annual report, set of rules. Team profile, profile of individual players, profile of trainers, profile of sponsors. Manager?s tasks, company managerial service.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to clarify basic relations applied in sports management. The students are informed about institutional and organisational system within physical culture in the Czech Republic and European Union. The aim of the course is to connect management, physical education and sport with the economy and legislative issues. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student: - Understands the relations among sports organisations and their members; - Has the knowledge about competition rules, regulations on participation of foreign players in the Czech Republic, transfer rules, disciplinary rules, trainer rules in the sports industry; - knows foreign and Czech club structures engaged in sport; - can prepare a player´s contract; - can manage a club theoretically.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar Work
Regular attendance, active participation in classes, individual consultation for purposes of the seminar paper, seminar paper and seminar presentation. The student will be provided with exact information during the first teaching unit.
