Course content
|
Thematic areas: History of the field, osteopathy, chiropractic, naprapathy, craniosacral therapy. Joint play and accessory motion. Functional joint disorders. Principles of joint examination and mobilization, contraindications, aids/equipment. Manipulation and mobilization therapy. Examination and treatment of joint blockages in the free upper limb. Examination and treatment of joint blockages in the shoulder girdle. Differential diagnosis of functional disorders of the upper limb. Examination and treatment of joint blockages in the free lower limb. Examination and treatment of joint blockages in the pelvic girdle. Differential diagnosis of functional disorders of the lower limb.

Learning outcomes
|
Students are introduced to the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and manual therapy techniques for functional disorders of limb joints, and learn how to perform them in practice.
Upon completion of the course, the student has mastered the theory of functional joint blocks in the limbs, their diagnosis, and practical methods for addressing them using mobilization techniques and facilitation-inhibition procedures.

Prerequisites
|
Prerequisites include the successful completion of the following courses: Soft Tissue and Mobilization Techniques (KFA/NMMT1), Neurology 1 and 2 (KFA/NNER1, KFA/NNER2), Orthopedics and Prosthetics (KFA/NORPR), Surgery and Traumatology 1 and 2 (KFA/NCHT1, KFA/NCHT2), and Imaging Methods (KFA/NZMET).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam, Student performance
100% attendance at practical sessions, practical credit test. Personal covering for the rehabilitation table (sheet, large towel).
