Course content
|
Thematic areas: History of the field, key literature. Reflex segmental dysfunction. Palpation, the barrier concept. Fundamentals of palpation techniques. PIR (Post-Isometric Relaxation). Assessment and treatment of reflex changes in the skin. Assessment and treatment of reflex changes in head and neck muscles. Assessment and treatment of reflex changes in upper limb muscles. Assessment and treatment of trunk muscles. Assessment and treatment of lower limb muscles. Myofascial syndrome. Causes of myofascial disorders. Fibromyalgia. Direct and indirect techniques.

Learning outcomes
|
Students are introduced to the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and manual therapy techniques for functional disorders of the soft tissues (skin, subcutaneous tissue, fascia, and muscles) of the musculoskeletal system, and learn how to perform them in practice.
Upon completion of the course, the student is able to perform the diagnosis and therapy of reflex changes in the soft tissues of the musculoskeletal system using specific soft-tissue techniques, adapted to the location and nature of the disorder.

Prerequisites
|
Prerequisites include mastering the subjects of Anatomy, Physiology, and Fundamentals of Kinesiotherapy (KFA / NZAKI).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam, Student performance
100% attendance at practical sessions, a passing grade on the final written test, and knowledge of the theoretical principles and practical application of specific soft-tissue techniques for musculoskeletal disorders (practical credit). Personal covering for the rehabilitation table (sheet, large towel).
