Course content
Basic manoeuvres when controlling a boat. Controlling the boat in a river current, moving into and out of the current. Streamlines, eddy lines, obstacles in the water. Overcoming natural and man-made obstacles. Organisation and safety of multi-boat trips. Use of watercraft (kayaks, canoes, rafts). Equipment for water tourism. Dangers in water tourism, assessing river flows.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to familiarise students with the theoretical foundations of spending time outdoors and to equip them with practical skills to apply this knowledge for recreation, relaxation and regeneration. The course focuses on canoeing (including principles of hydrodynamics) and the basics of water-based tourism.
Students will gain experience with water sports appropriate for use in the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and civilisation diseases.
