Course content
Review of patient documentation. Consultation regarding the reviewed documentation of a specific patient with qualified physiotherapists (holding a Master's degree). Kinesiological assessment of the patient. Proposal of a short-term and long-term rehabilitation plan. Justification of the diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Hands-on rehabilitation practice under the supervision of qualified physiotherapists (with the option to consult a physician).

Learning outcomes
Summer professional practice after passing the first year of study. 120 hrs in a rehabilitation institution/workplace - according to the student's choice. The student's task is to get acquainted with the work process in the institution/workplace and his/her active participation in examination-therapeutic process of concrete workplace (within the framework of knowledge gained during first year of study - basics of examination techniques in physiotherapy, basic applications of kineziotherapy, applications of elektrotherapy).
The student is able to utilize the knowledge and experience gained in routine rehabilitation practice, select a diagnostic and treatment method appropriate for a given patient from the physiotherapeutic procedures learned, and apply it practically in a clinical setting.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology at the level of the first-year curriculum. Successful completion of the following courses: Introduction to Rehabilitation (KFA / NREPR), Healthcare Administration (KFA / NADFY), Rehabilitation Nursing (KFA / NROST), Fundamentals of Kinesiology and Assessment Methods 2 (KFA / NZKV2), Physical Therapy 1 (KFA / NFYT1), Fundamentals of Kinesiotherapy (KFA / NZAKI), and First Aid Techniques (KFA / NTEPH). Where a contract with the chosen rehabilitation facility is required, the "Cooperation Agreement" form shall be used; this form, along with the annexes specifying the details of the mandatory internship, is available at the department office. The student is responsible for ensuring the agreement is signed and countersigned by the contracting parties.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student, Certificate of Graduation of Internship

Written confirmation of completed practical training and a record of specific activities performed during the placement (using the KFA form in the Professional Placement Logbook): 1. basic kinesiotherapy procedures covered in the first-year curriculum 2. physical therapy procedures covered in the first-year curriculum 3. rehabilitation nursing procedures 4. Overview of the spectrum of diagnoses of treated patients Oral summary of the placement (nature of the selected facility, range of diagnoses encountered, benefits and drawbacks of the placement) during the review of the Professional Placement Logbook. Proof of vaccination against viral hepatitis B.
